It is very useful to the computer make you a character, helps with the learning curve of the new rules.

So heres the bottom line of 3rd Edition. You may play a character of any race and chose any class with no level restrictions like those found in prior editions. Ability scores are a level field, no more Fighter excep. Strength, no gender based, etc. You still roll in the usual method generating a score of 3 to 18.

As usual your STR score determines bonuses for your melee attack rolls, damage bonus, climb, jump, swim, and carry numbers.

Your DEX score covers Ranged attack bonus, AC bonus, Thief skills, and Reflex oriented saving throws.

Your CON score covers bonus HP, saving throws having to do with Fortitude, and concentration while spell casting.

INT covers number of known languages, level up and starting skill points, Wizard bonus spells, maximum wizard spell level you can cast, (INT = 10 + spell level max, i.e. 15 INT = Max 5th level spells).

WIS covers Willpower saving throws, bonus Clerical spells, maximum Clerical spell level you can cast, (same as above).

CHA now regulates Clerical Undead Turning ability, bonus Sorcerer/Bard spells, maximum Sorcerer spell level you can cast, (same as above).

Once your abilities are rolled you move on and
